PARDO HATS X BOBO CHOSES - SEOUL CITY GUIDE BY SOL PARDO

Some curious hats have been spotted in the streets of Seoul. They have been seen wandering through busy streets, popping up in unexpected places and taking in everything Seoul has to offer.  Here are a few of their favourite spots by Sol Pardo.

Seochon & Bukchon

Two old neighbourhoods around Gyeongbokgung Palace, full of traditional houses, small galleries, cafés and cool concept stores. They feel like little villages hidden inside the city. Look out for Jahamun-ro 10-gil, Jahamun-ro 9-gil and Gyedong-gil and see where the streets take you.

For a little escape from the city

Take the cable car up to Namsan Seoul Tower and walk back down through the park towards Itaewon, ideally at sunset. For coffee, Onground is a favourite, set inside a renovated old house with vintage furniture, art books and vinyl records. Café Sinola is another good place to slow down.

For food

Try Home Korean Cuisine for a cosy Korean lunch, Hwangsaengga Kalguksu for dumplings and noodles, Tac for Korean-style tacos or Gimjinmoksam for barbecue. For a change, Natural High serves international food and natural wines, while Deakad brings a Copenhagen-inspired feel to Seoul.

Look!

There’s plenty to discover beyond food. AllWrite, Non Fiction and Lilyovceramics are great little shops. Leeum Museum of Art, Arario Museum in Space and MMCA Gwacheon are worth exploring for art and architecture. For something more traditional, visit Jogyesa Temple or wander through Insadong 10-gil.

Seoul is full of little surprises, so keep your eyes open and your hats ready to catch every detail.

Enjoy Seoul!
